Working together for ability
A Disability Action Plan is a part of a strategy for changing business practices to better engage people with disability and avoid unintentional discrimination. It is a voluntary agreement that demonstrates the company’s commitment to improving employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and the accessibility of business premises and shopfronts to enable customers with disabilities to enjoy equal access.
I was honoured to be invited by the Hon Bill Shorten to join the CEO Forum, a working group of government and industry leaders to develop strategies that improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
This was known as the Disability Action Plan Framework: working together for ability.
